Veterinary stockinette is the soft tubular knit that goes on first when a vet casts, splints or bandages an animal's limb. It is the same product used in human orthopedics. Tahir Collection manufactures it in cotton, synthetic (nylon and perlon) and fiberglass-compatible grades, in inch or centimetre widths, and supplies veterinary distributors, casting-kit makers and animal hospitals from its factory in Faisalabad, Pakistan.

What stockinette do vets use under casts and splints? +

Most veterinary casting starts with cotton stockinette against the skin or hair, followed by cast padding and then plaster or fiberglass casting tape. Synthetic stockinette is chosen when the cast may get damp or needs to dry faster. It is the same stockinette used in human orthopedics, sold in widths that suit animal limbs.

What stockinette width do I need for a dog, cat or horse? +

As a starting point: 1–2 inch (2.5–5 cm) for cats and small dog limbs, 2–4 inch (5–10 cm) for medium and large dog limbs, and 4 inch (10 cm) or wider for horse limbs over padding. Your veterinarians choose the final width. We make any lay-flat width from 2 cm to 40 cm, so a full range can be built around your catalogue.

Do you supply veterinary clinics directly? +

We supply veterinary distributors, buying groups, casting-kit makers and larger clinics or hospitals that buy by the carton. Smaller clinics usually buy through their distributor, and we are happy to supply that distributor.

Can you pack veterinary stockinette under our brand? +

Yes. We pack rolls under your label with your item codes, barcodes and carton marks. 25-yard (22.86 m) rolls are the usual US format; metric roll lengths are also made to order.
